Run groups, then a knockout

Small groups first, then the best go through to a knockout, and the rest can play a plate. Every match gets a time and a place.

  1. 1Choose Groups, then knockout

    In Setup’s Play step, choose Groups, then knockout. Draftastic makes the groups for your teams: 8 teams make 2 groups of 4. Under Options, switch on the plate, and the teams that don’t go through play a knockout of their own.

  2. 2Fit it to your pitches

    Under More options, say how many pitches you have, how long a match lasts and when you start. Then say how many teams go through from each group. The card adds it up: 18 matches, about 1 hour 25 minutes on 4 pitches.

  3. 3The groups on the TV

    The TV shows each group’s table in turn, and says how many go through. Beside it is what’s on now on each pitch.

  4. 4Then the knockout and the plate

    When the groups end, the top 2 of each group play the knockout, and the rest play the plate. The TV shows the bracket, then the plate, a page at a time.

Good to know

  • More teams make more groups: 16 teams make 4 groups of 4.
  • Where the groups don’t fill the knockout, the best teams just below the top go through too. More options says how many.
  • Teams go into the groups at random. To keep your own order, choose In team order under More options.
