Activity Feed & Chat
Draftastic’s Feed and Chat features keep everyone informed and engaged throughout the drafting process.
Activity Feed
The Feed tab displays a chronological list of all draft activities, including:
- Draft Events: Creation, progress updates (start, end, close), settings changes
- Participant Events: Joins, updates, deletions, participation status changes
- Team Events: Creations, deletions, name changes, captain assignments
- Drafting Events: Participant connections/disconnections, captain’s pick actions
- Chat Messages: All public messages and team-specific messages
Each entry shows the action, timestamp, and user who made the change. The feed updates in real-time, so no one misses important updates.
Chat Functionality
Send messages to all participants or team-specific chats:
- All Participants: Messages appear in the main feed and notify everyone.
- Team Chat: Private messages visible only to team members (if teams are formed).
To send a message:
- Go to the Feed tab.
- Use the filter tabs to choose your audience:
- “All”: Send messages to everyone (appears in main feed)
- #Team Name: Send private messages to your team only
- Type your message in the chat box at the bottom (max 500 characters).
- Press Enter or click the send button to send.
Note: Team messages are hidden from the “All” feed view for privacy, but all messages appear in their respective filtered views.
Real-Time Notifications
All changes and messages are pushed instantly to connected users. If connectivity is lost, you’ll see a notification, but updates resume automatically.
Message Filtering & Privacy
- Feed Filters: Use “All” to see public activity and “Team” to see team-specific messages
- Message Privacy: Team messages are only visible to team members and don’t appear in the “All” feed
- Character Limits: Chat messages are limited to 500 characters
- Message History: All messages are preserved in the feed for the duration of the draft
Moderation
As an owner or editor, you can manage the draft, but chat is open for all participants. For sensitive events, consider setting clear communication guidelines.
This feature enhances collaboration, especially in remote or large groups, by providing a central hub for communication and updates.
